Wired baby monitors are far less popular as they need to be properly installed and cables run around your house. They don’t offer a great deal of flexibility as they are fixed on location. You will need to always be in the same room as the receiver unit in order to hear the sounds from your baby. One advantage of wired baby monitors have over wireless systems is in the larger house. Wireless monitors may run out of range and not work at all in a very large house whereas a wired system will continue to work fine, regardless of the size of the house.

Portability Of A Baby Monitor

Some baby monitors are small enough to be carried around the house and provide a belt clip for this purpose. Be mindful that you don’t wander too far and out of range of the transmitter unit. Make sure you are always in range. Also, with a baby monitor strapped to you most of the day check its battery life as it may need charging up after a few hours. Examine the range of monitors that are on the market to determine one which is small enough and light enough to be carried but doesn’t sacrifice battery life.

A basic, audible type baby monitor will work fine for listening to sounds made by your baby but what if you would actually like to watch you baby whilst they are sleeping? Technology has advanced so that you can not only hear your baby but see your baby too. Video monitoring for your baby is a terrific enhancement so you can watch your baby anywhere is your home. Some systems even allow the signals to be broadcast on the internet – so you can view your images anywhere in the world.
